LEGO stop-motion videos on YouTube are certainly nothing new, nor are direct one-to-one remakes of movie trailers, but few have gone as brick-perfect as this. It’s a new LEGO redux of Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s now-infamous “There Are No Strings On Me” trailer, featuring James Spader’s amazingly creepy vocal performance and the least happy version of the song from Pinocchio you’ve ever heard. Feast your building-block-loving eyes on this thing of beauty.
The trailer is the work of YouTuber JimA73, whose channel contains lots and lots of these LEGO shorts, all just as impressive as this one. But, what makes this one so impressive is not that the motions and everything match the live-action visuals so perfectly, but that he was able to create things from the trailer that the LEGO corporation hasn’t actually made yet. You can get a Thor, Hulk, or Captain America minifig, but you can’t, as of this writing, procure a Hulkbuster Iron Man. We’re no doubt sure you WILL be able to get one the closer we get to the looming May 1st release date, but until then, we’ll just have to watch Jim’s trailer and drool into the cup we keep next to our laptops to catch our drool. Everybody has one; don’t look at me like that.
And just to prove how spot-on the trailer is, Mr. A73 has also posted a side-by-side comparison video. No questioning his validity, please.
Are you as into this stuff as we are? What LEGO sets do you hope/expect they’ll make when the movie finally comes out? Tell us that, and share pictures of your drool cups, in the comments below.
Actually all the Lego sets for Age Of Ultron have been leaked for some time and there will be a brick built Hulkbuster figure. You mention that you’re impressed with the youtuber’s creation of things Lego hasn’t themselves created but he was just using the Hulkbuster Chinese knockoff figure you’ve been able to get all over the internet for the last couple of months.
