A New FROZEN Short Will Debut with CINDERELLA

Have you been on the edge of your seat wondering when we’d get to see the new Frozen short, Frozen Fever? Well, let go of your worries because Elsa and Anna will return to the big screen in March. The next taste of Arendelle from Walt Disney Animation Studios will be attached to the live-action Cinderella movie. I guess that means I have to go see that film now, huh?

Frozen hit theaters just about a year ago. It’s hard to believe. Kids and adults are still rabid about the film so it’s appropriate that the short is titled Frozen Fever. I’ve had that fever for a long time. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are returning as directors, and the story will feature a brand new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Yes, that is the duo responsible for all the infectious tunes in the movie.

And about that story. Here’s the official synopsis:

“It’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.”

Shorts are only a few minutes long, but Disney has a knack for packing an emotional punch with them. Did you see the short before Big Hero 6? Feast had me in tears before the feature even started. Frozen Fever could be light and fluffy fun – and that’s fine – but I don’t think it’s out of line to expect a moving moment or two.

Cinderella and Frozen Fever will be in theaters on March 13, 2015.

“Feast” had me in tears too! Which is something, considering I thought the concept was just Ratatouille with a dog instead of a rat.
