A New Challenger Approaches in DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2

A new challenger approaches! Bandai Namco has just revealed a brand new fighter that will be joining the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 roster when the game launches on October 25, 2016. Who, you might ask? The prince of all Saiyans, Vegeta, that’s who! But this won’t be his usual form (his regular form will be in the game too). Instead, it will be Majin Vegeta, the prince’s most feared form. Witness Vegeta’s badass look above!

Majin Vegeta (2)

Majin Vegeta is one of my personal favorite forms, simply because this transformation was part of his redemption. Check out our list of top seven Dragon Ball Z episodes for a deep dive as to why.

To top it all off, Bandai Namco also announced the new Expert Mission multiplayer, which pits you and five of your buddies against a big NPC boss. It appears like the boss fights will consist of some of the most powerful fighters in the Dragon Ball universe. Strategizing with your pals on how to approach each fight will become an integral part of your success.

Expert Missions (3)

If you’re more about completing quests in the game, you’ll be happy to know that the quest list has doubled in the sequel. Plus, there will be parallel quests from the first game. There’s also a new system to control item drops that’ll give players an opportunity to search for some sick fighting garbs and accessories. How it’ll actually work is still unclear, but it does sound like it will become the ultimate carrot at the end of the stick.

I know all of this is exciting, and makes the wait for the October 25 launch that much more excruciating, but worry not, as an open-beta is on the way. No specific date has been announced as of yet, but it shouldn’t be too far off. In the beta you’ll have the chance to explore the massive new hub world, Conto City.

Expert Missions (4)

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is shaping up to be every Saiyan’s, Majin’s, and Namekian’s dream come true. Which other hero or villain do you hope joins the roster? Is there a certain form you’d like to see of your favorite character? Blast your thoughts onto the comments section below. For more on Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, check out our hands-on impressions!
