A LEGEND OF ZELDA Escape Room is Going on Tour in 2017

If you grew up playing any of The Legend of Zelda games, then you may have had the desire to swing the Master Sword or toss a few pots to check for special items. For the last 30 years, it’s been one of the top adventure game franchises. Next year, Nintendo and Scrap are teaming up of a Legend of Zelda escape room experience which may be the closest thing that we’ll get to playing the game in live-action.

Via Coming Soon, the Defenders of the Triforce experience will actually be more than just a single room. Instead, teams of six players will be tasked with going from room to room as they use items from the Zelda games to solve puzzles and retrieve the Triforce from Ganondorf within a time limit. It sounds like the set-up may be similar to the dungeons that are frequently used in the Zelda series since each solution will allow the players to advance into the next area. We’re also hoping that the classic sound effects will play when each new door opens. It just wouldn’t be Zelda without that!

At the end of the experience, there may not be a boss fight, but fans will be able to enter a promotional lounge where they can pose for Zelda related photos and buy exclusive merchandise.

Defenders of the Triforce is part of Nintendo’s rollout of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the latest game in the long-running franchise. The escape room is going on an eight-city tour, with the first stop in San Francisco from January 31 to February 5. From there, it will go to Los Angeles from February 10 to the 12th, before heading to San Diego from February 24 to the 25th. The subsequent stops in Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York do not currently have dates attached to them. Tickets will be sold through ScrapZelda.com beginning today.
