In just over a week, the penultimate season of Game of Thrones will hit HBO. Then we’ll be immersed in George R.R. Martin‘s fantasy world for seven weeks before the countdown to the final season begins. It may be a long wait before winter comes again, but in the interim, perhaps HBO can bring Westeros to us. HBO has announced that a Game of Thrones exhibition is going on a worldwide tour, and it’s starting this fall!
HBO and GES are teaming up for an interactive Game of Thrones experience that will utilize authentic props, costumes, and set decorations from the show. And it won’t be small. The early word is that the entire GoT experience will span 10,000 square feet, and it will recreate several locations from across the seven kingdoms of Westeros as well as a few locations from Essos as well. Not to be left out, the show’s iconic Wall and Castle Black will also be represented in the exhibit.
So far, the concept art released by HBO only offers a glimpse of the throne room in King’s Landing and the ever-popular Iron Throne. However, the announcement also hints that we’ll also see recreations from the King’s Road, additional locations in King’s Landing, the House of Black and White, and the city of Meereen under the command Daenerys Targaryen and her Unsullied army.
Game of Thrones: The Touring Exhibition will begin this fall in Europe before eventually making its way to the U.S. and other countries around the world. More specific dates and locations will reportedly be announced soon.
