A Foo Fighters Fan Wants to Buy Dave Grohl for $35,000

What a time.

After a brief respite from the music news cycle, Foo Fighters fans are back at it again with the weird requests for Dave Grohl. This time? It appears a Foo Fighters mega-fan is trying to “purchase” Dave Grohl for the paltry sum of $35,000, or 1.5 ten thousandths of the legendary musician’s net worth. Seems doable!

Aight, so who is this guy trying to kickstart this endeavor? His name is Frank Pain, and he is an Texas-based radio DJ. It turns out (much like Dave Grohl himself), he is a pretty stand-up dude. His GoFundMe page admits that the whole project is a joke, and that he just wants to distract people from the vitriol of social media (preach) and maybe even give Grohl a “bro-hug or two” if this works out. Since news of this has caught on, he has vowed to donate the proceeds of the initiative to the charity Autism Speaks. Originally, Pain worried about the legality of purchasing Dave Grohl and found a silver lining in keeping the donation money as a beer fund. We’re glad he went the noble route with this one, otherwise I would have had to be douchey and come up with a big list of other things he could have purchased with the money (3,560 copies of Purple Rain!).

It’s only a matter of time before based-Grohl responds to this request by flying to Italy to perform for the city of Cesana allowing himself to be temporarily owned/playing a benefit show for charity. Maybe he’ll just auction off that fancy broken leg throne for the above price and call it a day.
