A Familiar Face is Coming to GOTHAM Season 2

There are big spoilers ahead for Gotham season 2! If you don’t want to know which character is making a comeback then you should stop reading now. You’ve been warned!

Sharp eyed Gotham fans may have noticed a body that looked suspiciously like Fish Mooney in the Indian Hill facility earlier this season. While it hasn’t been confirmed that the body was Fish’s, one thing is clear: Jada Pinkett Smith is coming back to Gotham.

Smith has reportedly signed on to reprise her role from the first season of Gotham in “a multi-episode arc” during the second half of season 2. Beyond that, no further story details are available. But if Fish’s return is connected to Indian Hill, then her apparent resurrection may be the work of Dr. Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong), one of Batman’s classic villains who will also appear this season.

Fish Mooney

Fish Mooney was an original character created for Gotham who has no previous links to the Batman mythology. She was also one of the major players in the first season as she attempted to bring down Don Carmine Falcone (John Doman) and assume control of Gotham City’s underworld. Her former henchman, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) emerged as Fish’s primary adversary and he seemingly killed Fish during the first season finale by pushing her into the water after she had been shot.

Given the bad blood between Fish and Oswald, our money is on a rematch between the two when Smith finally makes her return to the series.
