A Big Ol’ Bonnaroo Playlist for Your Roadtrip to Tennessee

How is it already Bonnaroo weekend!? Why, it feels like just yesterday that our very own Nerd Overlord, Chris Hardwick, announced he would be appearing (catch him on Saturday at the Comedy Theatre!) at the famous midwestern festival that was formerly a jam-band-only event. Throughout the years, though, Bonnaroo has become one of the most holistic festivals in the country, with plenty of options for fans comedy and music from all genres, and 2015 is looking especially fresh.

Bonnaroo was the first music festival I ever went to. I was 16 years old, had a giant, shitty jew-fro (I’m Jewish, so I can say that), and I have no idea what my parents were thinking. I begged and begged a lot because at the time the Black Keys were my favorite band, and there was no way that I was going to let the opportunity to see them play on a mud-ridden farm in Manchester, Tennessee pass me by. What did they think I was, some sort of sucker? On the way down from Cincinnati to Tennessee we listened to all the bands that we were excited about, which involved trading off iPod classics and switching out CDs because it was eight years ago, which is essentially an eon ago. If only we had had music streaming back then.

I am retroactively dedicating this beefy Bonnaroo playlist to my 16-year-old self because I needed to keep my eyes on I-71 instead of on that National CD that I dropped on the ground as I was putting it into my six-changer. Below you’ll find 30 tracks from some of the best bands on the lineup this year, including Spoon, Childish Gambino, Run The Jewels, Reggie Watts, and moarrrrrrr. Enjoy, friends!

Also, we are stoked to announced that we are partnering with the fine folks at Red Bull to bring you  a live-stream of the festival and some of its best acts for the entire duration of the event. You’ll be able to catch a ton of great bands, so stay tuned at 5pm PT today (Thursday, June 11) when we go live!
