5-Year-Old Drummer Nails System of a Down’s “Toxicity”

Alright, so I can barely remember any of my early childhood activities, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t mirror anything remotely as hardcore as the musical pursuits of Eduarda Henklein, a Brazilian 5-year-old who is an insane drummer. Having appeared on talk shows and talent shows back home, Henklein now has worldwide attention from her YouTube videos. She can drum complicated tunes by AC/DC, Metallica, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, you name it. Jealous? Inspired? Uh-huh, we too are feeling all of those things.

In the above video, Henklein performs a drum cover of System of a Down’s “Toxicity”, a song that’s known for its aggressive beat (she did her research).  You can see that she’s uber-talented, and projects a natural grace that makes the video a pleasure to watch. At the 2:38 minute mark she turns and grins for the camera, but never loses focus on the beat: the mark of a true professional.

For more where that came from, visit Henklein’s YouTube channel, and give her a shout out on Facebook if you like her style. If she continues at this rate, Henklein will be a pro-drummer by her early teens–no doubt about it. Based on her musical picks so far, we trust that her parents are exposing her to all the right tunes to keep her musical interest stoked. Keep practicing, girl! We think you rock.
