2k games has made the rumors official, announcing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC today. The game is being co-developed by Gearbox Studios and 2k Australia and will hit store shelves sometime this fall.
The game takes place between the events of the first two Borderlands games and will highlight the rise of Handsome Jack and the Hyperion Corporation. Players will be put in the shoes of four new characters â one of them Claptrap â and will fight alongside the Borderlands 2 baddie in the low gravity setting of Pandora’s moon.
Yes, this isn’t the Borderlands 3 game everyone was hoping for, nor will the game be hitting any of the next-gen platforms, but playing as Claptrap is certainly a strong enough bargaining chip to warrant players dusting off their last-gen consoles. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be playable for PAX East attendees to try out this weekend, and we’ll be on site to get some hands-on time with this bad boy, so if you have any more questions about the game, be sure to leave them in the comments down below.
Why isn’t this being released for next gen consoles
