Cast Your Vote in the 2016 Nerdist Movie Awards

It’s officially February, which means the Academy Awards are just a few weeks away. And while we were pleasantly surprised by some of this year’s nominees (Mad Max: Fury Road for Best Picture or bust!), the Oscars have been mired in another year of controversy over the Academy’s (and, let’s be real, Hollywood’s) lack of diversity. Because after all, culture should reflect the entire population, right? Everyone wants a chance to see themselves and their stories on the big screen, and the more we talk about it and inspire change on a micro and macro level, the closer we get to fair representation.

True, we here at Nerdist can’t change Hollywood and Awards Shows overnight, but we CAN celebrate the films, performances, and filmmakers we loved in 2015. Which is to say, it’s time for the sixth annual Nerdist Movie Awards! The Nerdist editors and writers voted internally to come up with these nominees, and though it was tough, we’re pleased with the offerings we have.

We’ll be casting the vote across Nerdist proper for most of the categories to settle on the winners, but we want to make sure that you, dear Nerdist readers, get your voices heard, too. That’s where you come in: Help us out and vote for Best Picture and Most Anticipated Movie of 2016 below, then take a peek at the other nominations too. We’ll be sharing the winners at the end of the month, so stay tuned to find out who wins. But for now… what are you waiting for? Get to votin’!
