14th Century Nun Comedy THE LITTLE HOURS Trailer Looks Like the Dirtiest Movie of 2017

The Little Hours is the upcoming film adaptation of The Decameron, a 14th century collection of novellas by Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio about a group of people fleeing the plague in Florence. Based on that premise, of course, it’s a comedy, and potentially the dirtiest one of 2017 at that. The just-released, safe-for-work trailer proves that you probably won’t find a more hilarious movie about sinful nuns this year.

The movie is about three nuns (played by Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, and Kate Micucci) who perhaps aren’t the most pious of God’s earthly servants (hence the film’s R rating), with a list of sins ranging from violence to lust to blood-eating. Their abrasive behaviors force the convent’s laborer to leave, which leads to a new hired hand, played by Dave Franco. He’s presented as deaf and mute so as to not tempt the uncouth sisters in any way, but as his cover starts to slip, as the official synopsis puts it, “the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse, and wicked revelry.”

Our own Scott Beggs saw the movie at Sundance and thought it was hilarious, and with a cast rounded out by John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Fred Armisen, Nick Offerman, and Adam Pally, among other favorites, we imagine you’ll probably feel the same way. If the trailer above wasn’t quite raunchy enough for you, find the red band trailer here, and let us know in the comments just how soon you plan on going to confession after watching this one.
