Yesterday Marvel officially announced a standalone Black Panther film and that 42 actor Chadwick Boseman would be playing the iconic T’Challa, giving comic book fans across the country cause for celebration. They were also kind enough to release the first glimpse of Black Panther in costume through an exclusive poster featuring concept art by Ryan Meinerding.

While this costume is undoubtedly badass, we couldn’t help but wonder if we could do better. Today being National Cat Day was just icing on the cake — and if Marvel is celebrating, why shouldn’t we?
