YouTube Adds Immersive 360° Snoop Dogg Experience to Every Video

Have you heard?! Game of Thrones has been cancelled!

On a more somber note, though, J.J. Abrams just announced that there have been “devastating” damages to the Star Wars set, delaying the next film “six to seven years.” Seriously 🙁

Wait, waittttt GOTCHA AGAIN! APRIL FOOLS!

In all seriousness now, though, YouTube has just launched a Snoopavision feature that allows users to watch every video in 360° with Snoop Dogg. April Fools? I think not!

“Today we’re excited to announce a feature that people have been asking for since we launched: the ability to watch every video in 360°, with Snoop Dogg,” says Ben Relles, YouTube’s Director of Innovation. Youtube has actually installed a Snoop icon on their player dashboard for every single one of their videos. Just check out this old viral standard of the two adorable elderly folks trying to figure out Skype. Click the Snoopavision icon and see what happens!

Whether that’ll last beyond today remains to be seen (there are actually only ten Snoopavisioned videos so far), but it’s truly an exciting day to be alive. “What’s so awesome about this new product is that finally you can combine 360° immersive viewing with the pioneer in west coast g-funk hip-hop,” says Preeya Khana, the 360 degree Product Manager.

“We originally wanted the “Gin and Juice” video to be in 360 but the technology just wasn’t there yet,” says Snoop, the feature’s Product Architect. “So I coded the hell out of this software to get me up in there.”

Snoop really impressed the whole YouTube team with his marked ingenuity—way beyond the scope of music. “We thought his involvement would be limited to a few recording sessions, but somehow, some way, he kept coming up with these groundbreaking ideas like every single day,” said Khana.

Just some more proof that Snoop is truly a visionary.
