In LA, brunch is everything. If youâre spending your Sundays sipping mimosas and perusing the menu for egg white kale scrambles then congrats, youâre already living the real life version of FXXâs Youâre the Worst.
Youâre the Worst is FXXâs hit show about love and life in Los Angeles, and brunch is often a key component. Therefore, FXX has partnered with dineLA, the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Boardâs program that produces LAâs Restaurant Week, to produce a one day only Sunday Funday brunch event. Happening on August 30, $25 brunch specials from some of LAâs most notable eateries will be offered.
To quote Youâre the Worstâs Lindsay, fighting off mustachioed bow-tied hipsters for brunch seating âis like a hipster Game of Thrones.â Not to worry, this Sunday Funday is all about the best of brunch. Some of the menus feature amazing food like Roy Choiâs A-Frame Loco Moco, his own version of the Hawaiian plate lunch classic: a hambagu steak with rice, smothered in curry gravy and topped off with a sunny side egg. Prefer sweet? Love & Salt offers up ricotta pancakes topped with blueberries and lemon curd. Or how about an update to the classic benedict, Abigaileâs Dirty Bird Benedict, fried chicken with a harissa hollandaise with maple syrup on a sage biscuit?? It doesnât get brunchier than that.
Other restaurants taking part in the event are LA faves The Church Key, Maxilimiliano, Plan Check Kitchen & Bar, and Wildcraft. For this special event, guests can select one entrée and one side or dessert from each restaurantâs brunch menu, plus a bottomless beverage, alcoholic or non, thatâs all you.
Sunday Funday is about squeezing every drop of life out of the weekend before Monday. Hereâs to Sunday Funday!
