Your Very First Look at BETTER CALL SAUL is in This Wee Teaser

“Lawyers: we’re like health insurance. You hope you never need it, but man oh man, not having it? No, phew.” You know, Saul Goodman’s business model operates far more closely to that of a big ol’ insurance company than defenders of human rights and upholders of the law, don’t you think? Which is to say that this first-ever teaser from the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, is spot freakin’ on.

It’s short but just enough to get us excited about the Bob Odenkirk-fronted series: like finally (finally!) giving us a new release timeframe following the series’ second season renewal and first season push-back into 2015. (It was originally slated to premiere this November on AMC.) The clip premiered on Sunday night during a marathon of the new show’s origin point (y’know, the one with Heisenberg), and though it reveals pretty much nothing, it’s still enough. For now. Because anything is enough when you’re teasing something so long-awaited and hotly anticipated.

But come February 2015, the world will finally get a bit more of Saul Goodman… or rather, should we say Jimmy McGill? Yeah, for those who are unaware of what’s in store for the series’ premise, AMC has previously gone on record to say that “The series is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet.” So it’s a pretty safe bet that, over the course of the show, the audience will see the full McGill-to-Goodman transformation. Oh and a bit of Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) for good measure.

Looking forward to Better Call Saul? Let’s discuss it in the comments!
