Your Favorite Disney Princesses Reimagined as Fine Art Portraits

Disney Princesses are some of the most well-known characters in all of pop culture. Whether hand-drawn or computer animated, their distinct style is known the world over. Artist Heather Theurer decided to add a new dimension to these wonderful characters by reimagining them as fine art pieces. Let’s take a look at this museum-quality artwork.

The above image features Mulan. What strikes me the most in this painting is her scarves, and they seem to be flowing and alive as Mulan herself.

Anna and Elsa

Here are a young Anna and Elsa getting excited over meeting their new friend Olaf. What I really like about this painting is that Olaf looks the same as he does in Frozen, but still looks like he fits into this real world setting.

Belle

Belle is trying to keep warm as she waits for Beast (I am assuming. She could just be getting in some “me time”). Heather looks to have turned to Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) for some inspiration for this one.

Cinderella

Cinderella is enjoying the view, as best she can, before getting back to work. Her facial structure has the most “classic art” feel of all of them.

Lilo

This one has a Norman Rockwell feel about it. Just like with Olaf, Stitch looks just like his animated counterpart while at the same time fitting into the painting perfectly.

Rapunzel

Here’s Rapunzel, with her long hair flowing around her. Just like with Mulan and her scarves, Rapunzel’s hair looks like it’s alive.

Merida

This is my favorite of the series. The way Merida’s hair is out of sorts helps balance the focused look on her face as she readies her bow. Whatever she is aiming at, she WILL hit.

So what do you think? Which of these amazing paintings is your favorite? What other characters (Disney or otherwise) would you like to see receive this type of treatment? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
