Years ago, when Disney purchased Marvel, there was a good portion of the audience that thought “Oh no! This is the end! Marvel’s DONE!” That was always weird to me because at the time everyone was still going to Disneyland, still seeing every Pixar movie that came out, and still dedicating entire aisles at Target to Disney merchandise.
Today, that drama has definitely died down, as not only is Marvel alive and well, but Disney has everyone excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens this Christmas on top of it. Oh, and there’s that little tidbit about the first official Disney/Marvel collaboration, Big Hero 6, winning the Oscar for best animated feature.
It was only a matter of time before someone asked about OTHER characters being done the Disney way. Brian Cronin from Comic Book Resources did just that, and the results were fantastic. You can check them out in the gallery below, but here are two of my favorites.
While it’s fun to see a majority of these characters done in the Disney style, these two are my favorite because they have no business even going NEAR Disneyland, let alone being drawn like a Disney character. The Mickey Mouse gloves on the Punisher are the best, and even the skull on his chest just seems really happy to be there.
What do you guys think? Which of these pictures is your favorite? Is there a character you’d like to see get a Disney makeover? Do you have your own art like this you’d like to share? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
