It’s not that we aren’t looking forward the Young Han Solo movie. It’s just that when we first heard about the project, we thought we were going to be getting something a little different. You see, they’re giving us a story about what Han Solo was like as a young man, and sure, that will probably be great. However, when we heard “young,” we assumed a few other things as well: Hip Han Solo. Modern Han Solo. Millennial Han Solo.

We know that’s probably on us, because that interpretation doesn’t make any sense, and yet, we can’t help being disappointed by the mixup. We really got excited about seeing what a woke space smuggler would look like in this day and age. But hey, you know how the old saying goes: when life gives you lemons, go ahead and make the version of the movie you wanted anyway.*

That’s why Nerdist is proud to bring to you Episode One of our new series: Millennial Falcon, a story set in the galaxy far, far away, but one that shares the same modern problems as our own. Because in a world with Space Tinder, you can’t afford to be cavalier with letting an empowered modern feminist princess know how you feel about her. Although, as you’ll find out, some societal taboos are just as weird now as they were a long time ago.
