You Need to Watch Samuel L. Jackson Yell at Kittens

How did you spend your Monday night? I hope it was watching The Tonight Show, because if not, you missed watching Samuel L. Jackson yelling at kittens. Yes, you heard me correctly. Samuel L. Jackson yelled at kittens last night on television. As reported by Entertainment Weekly this morning, Jackson was a guest on The Tonight Show, on which he was a contestant in Jimmy Fallon‘s “Truth or Door” game with fellow guest Gina Rodriguez. Please take a moment and watch the entire clip below. It’s really too much fun.

I don’t know what I find most entertaining. It might be the bewildered, but not traumatized, looks on the faces of the kittens before and after the yelling. It might Jackson asking whether or not the dare was to eat the kittens. It also might be the moment I identified very strongly with Ms. Rodriguez as she asked, totally in character as a robot, if she could hold one of the kittens.

It takes a special talent to bring something back to life that has clearly gone the way of the dinosaurs, and I would say that Truth or Dare is one of those things. Outside of youthful slumber parties and the ill-advised college drinking game, Truth or Dare isn’t really something that adults participate in, but Fallon has done the impossible and made it interesting again. And the dares, instead of being made to completely humiliate the players, are actually quite fun. I would like the chance to yell at kittens about my favorite movie!

Please tweet me at @bookoisseur and tell me which movies you would yell at kittens about if you were given the chance.
