  1. Brad says:

That picture of Jimmy looks like he’s trying not to laugh, so now I can’t stop laughing at it.

  2. Smith says:

Goodness, Chet, are you new to observing showbiz?

  3. Todd Mason says:

You were thinking of the 1966 Texas shootings by Charles Whitman

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman

…the film TARGETS is based in part on Whitman’s case.

  4. Al says:

Is Pascal’s Wager still taken seriously by theologists? I was under the impression that most major christian theorists moved beyond the wikipedia version.

The wikipedia entry discusses the primary weakness which is that you need to propose a method to determine that one religious story is more likely than any other. Pascal should have shown that the hellfire story is more likely than any other story, including those that are not mainstream. What if God wants to select against religiousness and has therefore invented stories to identify the religious? What if, and what if…. They are all trivial statements without a skeleton key to make one what if more significant than the others.

  5. Julia says:

Loved this episode. One of the best yet.

  6. onReload says:

Wait. Bill Buckner screwing up the autograph for Jimmy and NOBODY makes a “dropped the ball” kind of joke?

  7. guest says:

Didn’t expect a Pascal’s Wager reference at the end.

  8. Chet says:

How can every episode of this god-damn podcast be a “DELIGHT?” There’s nothing wrong with a little enthusiasm now and again, but when it is deployed so liberally time after time it kind of loses its effectiveness.

  9. MichaelH says:

NOOO! I restarted the page typing the previous comment, and now the playe version is cut off too 🙁

  10. MichaelH says:

The player version is fine, but the downloadable versions have the last 15 – 20 minutes cut off 🙁

    Great episode!

  11. John G. says:

@sharkchurch – HAHAHAHAH! Post-Pardo depression. That’s genius. Man, do I love Jimmy Pardo.

  12. jsl says:

When I went to itunes this morning and didn’t see the new episode posted, I felt like daddy forgot to pick me up from school.

  13. jimjim says:

thanks Pete and Jimmy. The part about being young and struggling to maintain a relationship while building a career was great to hear. I can relate. Mike Birbigs definitely covers it well in Sleepwalk With Me. I’m still in the process of getting over my last relationship that was exactly like what you guys were talking about. Therapy has been a great help, but sometimes this podcast just says everything i need to hear. Thanks Pete for being so open!

  14. sharkchurch says:

I almost dont wanna listen to this because when its over I don’t wanna get post-pardo depression 🙁

  15. There appears to be a continuing problem with the RSS feed at Libsyn, and I’m not sure what’s going on. The podcast IS there, and it works for me on this page, but it’s not posting to iTunes. In the meantime, try this link if you can’t wait:

  16. Matt says:

Yeah, iTunes is not working. Not just this podcast, though. A few others have not updated like they normally do.

  17. Jessica says:

Not getting it in iTunes! 🙁

  18. Danny says:

    Still not working for me.

  19. It appears to be working now, so enjoy…

  20. Andrew S says:

It’s not showing up on the libsyn page either, I’d assume it’s a problem with their system. Hopefully it’s fixed soon, I can’t wait to listen to this!

  21. TJ W. says:

The iTunes feed doesn’t seem to be working. Have a feeling it’s a widespread thing since it’s the same with the Sklars, Who Charted, etc.

  22. Julia says:

Haven’t listened to this yet but CANNOT WAIT. Love Jimmy Pardo.
