One of Pete’s earliest heroes, Gary Gulman (Last Comic Standing, HBO, comedy), came by to make it weird reminiscing about Boston, brothers who ruined his magic shows, and so much more. A supremely good episode! GET INTO IT, WEIRDOS!!

I worked at the dollar store and they did say I could just take some crap.
Gary is just charming and this whole episode was hilarious. Thanks Pete and Gary!
” . . . and other events such as running from this guy.” Haha! I could totally picture that. Great podcast!
A great episode. Camus & Satre references? Gary is perfection.
Here’s a link to the “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” video that Pete played in the episode:

Does anyone have that Chris Thayer seger cover isolated on youtube or something, yet?
Wow, loved this episode!!! Cannot beat the Kurt Vonnegut and Charles Bukowski references. Also the dollar store discount joke is fucking hilarious, I don’t care how old it is.
Great ep, Pete! I saw Gary Gulman live once too — never thought grapes could be so funny! He seems like such a nice guy. Also, it’s so completely endearing how much Chris Thayer wants to make you laugh.
The “Go to the edge of the cliff and jump off. Build your wings on the way down.” quote was from my hero, the recently deceased Ray Bradbury.
Great episode, guys. Gary’s apparent sense of wonder and lack of pretension was refreshing. “I mean, I did Nicholson!”
dear pete, i’m really disapointed that when gary said chunk of change you didn’t make a reference to chicken
thanks all! and thank you for posting that poem! good lord that’s good.
“Sometimes when I’m on the road and I land in a new airport, I pretend I’m an assassin.”
“Of course, you do Gary, of course you do- because you’re a human man.”
“And nobody knows. I’m the best type of assassin.”
And then the D&D story broke my heart. Oh man… Also, Boston accents are freaking hot, so thanks for that.
Please have Gary back often.
Pascal’s Wager is what you were thinking of Pete. But let’s be honest, if there is a god, he’s gonna see right through that bullshit so I don’t think it would be smart to bank on it that way
Pete Holmes and Gary Gulman spreading joy left and right. Great episode!
16 minutes in, and Gary quotes one of my favorite Vonnegut lines, who is one of my idols and my favorite writer of all time. This is gonna be a good episode.
