Whoa. This is a lot of negativity on a free podcast! I liked this episode. Mark seems like a funny dude, but also from like 1982. His voice is the funniest thing. I miss the twice a week podcast though, Pete!!

I apologize to Mike Normand, whoever he may be, for confusing him with the guy who thinks it “sucks” that he’s not allowed to spread bigotry.
The logic that says “I made fun of a disabled person once and they thought it was funny” is the same logic that says “I have a black friend who is OK with me saying the n-word”. Just because it’s OK with some people doesn’t mean it’s OK with most people.
Oh, you, a heterosexual white cis male, think it “sucks” that you can’t make fun of people anymore based on their race, gender, sexuality, et al, without being called out on it?
Do you know who doesn’t think that “sucks”? The millions of people who have gone their entire lives being the butt of some white guy’s jokes, being belittled and dehumanized by punch lines simply for being a certain color, a certain gender, or having a certain sexuality.
No, what “sucks” is that comedians like Mike Normand still don’t think they should have to take responsibility for their actions. What “sucks” is that they still don’t realize that their jokes aren’t actually harmless and have a real and noticeable influence on society. They have actual consequences.
When you belittle an entire group of people with racist, sexist, or homophobic jokes, you are doing your part to create a society that sees those people as less than human. You are helping to create a society that beats them, rapes them, and murders them.
God forbid if people start to think that a stand-up comedian should stop telling offensive jokes about people who have been treated as less than human throughout their entire lives. God forbid if a comedian is held responsible for their actions.

I was joking Mr. Boring, I don’t give a shit if Pete likes Harry Potter.
Also, religion has always been a cornerstone of this podcast. Pete will probably stop talking about it or being interested in it when he stops wrestling with his notions about god, so likely never. I’m; glad you got to bitch about free stuff though.

Wow to the guy who wrote that long ass comment just because Pete didn’t like Harry Potter. Don’t be a butt hurt fan. Awesome as usual, glad to discover a new comedian whose style i am into. Kinda get sick of the end where Pete discusses his religious views. I agree with him mostly, it just feels repetitive and accomplishes nothing. I don’t read comments of previous episodes so I would assume this has already been brought up before. I think I will just skip the last 20 minutes and keep to myself from now on
man Pete had some liquid go down the wrong pipe around minute 31 and then has a weird throat thing for like eight minutes i found it very distracting. i almost thought it was a bit, like he’s trolling people.To listen to a story about maturbating while also being involved with the sub-drama of pete’s throat. Strange.
I dont think anything we have as humans can help us properly identify what God it. Be it science or religion. So no wonder Pete cant figure it out. Also please have JANET VARNEY on the podcast.

You can boil anything down this way to make it seem stupid, lol. Please feel free to guess what movie I’ve boiled down in these three examples:
An crazy old man tricks a young teenage boy into getting in his car so they can zoom around in time.
A man who talks weird likes to play in the dirt with his deaf bastard son and fight with a creepy Jesus freak over black goo whilst incredibly annoying background music plays.
Some tin man chases around a lady and a dude for the whole movie and then the lady drives to Mexico.
I love the shit out of you Pete, and your podcast is great, your dislike of Harry Potter and the Hobbit notwithstanding. On a serious note, your conversation regarding real talk was very interesting and you have inspired me to do that more myself, so thank you Mr. Holmes and your peppermint smelling asshole.

i think Pete needs to figure out a solid definition of what “god” is. He has said its “the love energy” , Kanye West , me , you, everything….
To me , that Rob Bell quote “we believe in different gods” just proves the point that everybody just makes up their own definition of god , which to me, is a good reason to think all of them are B.S.

I just want to say that I think Mark is totally fucked with the lying thing. If I had someone in my life that did things like the party lie they talk about, I would simply never trust them again. How can Pete just skim over that? I could be wrong though. Anyone else agree?
