  1. Grant says:

Wasn’t Jay Pharoah a Youtube sensation?

  2. laura says:

It is surprisingly interesting to watch what ants are up to, and ladybugs gettin’ it on etc.. Watch the documentary ‘Microcosmos’.

Loving the compassionate vegan-y thread that runs through both Pete and Horatio.

  3. big jim slade says:

Progress, not perfection. As long as you are working on being a better person, you are doing great. You don’t have to be hard on yourself. Just keep fighting the good fight.

  4. Joe T says:

I just realized someone already said what I did but there’s no delete button. I’m sorry Pete, pay me no heed.

  5. Joe T says:

In regard to the “What if you could live your life again with the memories you have now?” bit at 1:05:35, anyone who liked it might find it interesting to read “Replay” by Ken Grimwood. It centers on the concept and touches on some of the same points that Horatio and Pete do at that time in the podcast.

  6. Patty Marvel says:

RE: the MST3K reference an hour into the podcast – some of the guys from that show now do one called Rifftrax, which also takes the piss out of bad movies. They’re doing another nation wide show on Thursday, October 24th to riff “Night of the Living Dead.”

As much as I enjoyed hearing Sanz’s SNL stories, I loved the philosophical turn the conversation took half way in . Pete, you’re NOT the only one who wants to go back in time to their kid self, either with warnings about the future or to live those years over with the knowledge we have now. Maybe high school wouldn’t have sucked so much…

Must find the movie “The Source” now (because my Netflix queue isn’t long enough.

FYI, the movie where Morgan Freeman plays a bad ass teacher is “Lean on Me.”

  7. I can’t live, with or without you,
I can’t live, with or without yooooooou!

  8. Tillburg says:

Pete it’s all an uneasiness. Sometimes we watch ants from afar. Sometimes we intervene. Sometimes we decide to wash them all away in a fit of vengeance or annoyance. Sometimes we glance at their hill, only to pass by. Other times we walk over an entire colony tunneling under our feet, never to know they are there.

That’s how I feel aliens are to us. With millions of worlds and the giant span of galaxy we are surrounded by, all of this can be applicable. Let’s just hope we haven’t invaded someone’s space kitchen somewhere.

  9. Ken says:

Oh Pete, you’ve never sat in class, have an ant walk around on your desk and then scratch it’s head with it’s rear legs like a dog. To think a dog and an ant have the same itches is fascinating.

  10. Roman says:

    Pete,

I would suggest you watch this video by David Foster Wallace. This is a great talk about perspective and has a good production value on the video.

  11. kickpuncher says:

Pete, you talked about coming back as a child with the same knowledg you have now. You should read Replay by Ken Grimwood, it touches on each of the concerns you were talking about, and it’s a great read check it out.

  12. Ken M.C. says:

Another great one for the books, amazing how Pete & Guests always happen to relate on some obscure level.

  13. mikachu says:

Loved Pete and Horatio’s energies together – it was really sweet and fun!

  14. Emily says:

    dave. dave. dave. DAVID.

  15. Adam S says:

Funny moment starting at the 50 minute mark…

Pete – “Did you always want to get like rah rah rah’ed?”
Horatio – “I don’t understand your question exactly”
