  1. Sean says:

Great episode. I’m a huge fan of Duncan Trussell…and for the longest time, only listened to his podcast. But after Pete appeared on it several times, I decided to give his show a try…and now I’ve finally found another amazing podcast. Pete and Duncan are 2 of my favorite humans ever.

So…did anyone else notice a wee bit(just a wee bit) of flirtation going on between these two? They both seem to be similar people, have similar mind-sets, and similar relationship history. Idk…I just kinda think they were a bit into each other. Maybe I’m reading into things…but they seemed to be on the same level. I might be wrong, but I hope not……Jen is super cool, funny, and really intelligent. Hell, I have a crush on her. So, I can’t help but hope her and Pete hit it off and end up being lovers….. 😉

Anyway, back to the episode. I’m only halfway through, and enjoying it very much. So glad I found this podcast. Pete is a gem of a human being. He’s such a genuine and fully open person. That’s also why I like Duncan Trussell so much.

Actually….if anyone is reading this(doubtful) and knows of other podcasts that are hosted by people similarly cool as Duncan and Pete…can you let me know? I’m trying to find podcasts worth listening to…as I find it much more entertaining and informative than teevee. I’ve listened to MANY podcasts…but the only ones that have me truly addicted are Pete’s and Duncan’s.

Speaking of Pete and Dunkster(seems like something Pete would say, don’t it?) he mentioned that Duncan will be the next guest. SO SO fucking happy to hear that. It’s been too long. Duncan and Pete have perfect chemistry…and I can’t wait to tickle my ear holes with their mouth noises. ^___^

  2. Jenny Smith says:

    Loved it. Very good duo!

But, I’ve gotta stand up for yoga. I don’t go to yoga because I’m super uptight with issues. I go because A: I work at home and it gets me out of the house…
and B: To stretch it out. Helps my back and my flexibility! That is all…

  3. Jean says:

I, as well, want to know why Pete cries to Kanye’s “Monster.”

Also, Pete, on the off chance you see this, I think you’d really like the Roy Andersson film “Songs from the Second Floor” there is a scene involving crucifixes being thrown away at a junkyard that seems right up your alley. Youtube that shit!

  4. Erica says:

i could come to the desert

  5. Zach Coty says:

This is a really good episode. Jen Kirkman is one of the very best guests ever, she always brings out the best of any podcast.

  6. Patty Marvel says:

    Two random thoughts –

#1. Have never seen couples flirt on Twitter when I knew they were in the same room, but text flirting for just the two of you in the living room is kinda hot.

#2. Jan and Pete should totally fuck.

  7. Patty Marvel says:

Oh, my sweet Cthulu… I *AM* an “Aunt Jenny!!!”

And you know what? It’s pretty farking AWESOME!!! Spoil the kids for an afternoon or a whole weekend, then hand them back to their parents when the nesting urge has passed and the little ones are FULL of candy! HUZZAH!!

  8. Ian says:

I listened to this three days ago and I’m still laughing about “I could come to the desert.”

  9. Arabrabra says:

I have to say, I love this show…but this one was just wonderful. What a delight Jen was as a guest. I believe she summed up her beliefs more eloquently and clearly than any previous guest. Not that the other guests were wrong or bad, just this one really hit the nail on the head. It’s a hard thing to know how to explain your beliefs, and I think you Jen should give yourself a little bit of a break. I think you know yourself and what you want a bit more than you give yourself credit for. Chin up girl you are on the right path! She is never going to read this…

  10. Pete Holmes says:

“Monster” makes me tear up because Nikki kills it so hard and it’s her big debut. Makes me emotional.

  11. Dave says:

This ep had some of the best Catherine laughs!

  12. “HEYYYYY! It’s a daaaaate!!!”

Holy Mormon Jesus, I nearly fell off the treadmill when you belted that out Pete!! Thanks for the laughs!!

  13. Paige says:

Fantastic episode. Jen Kirkman is one of my heroes. She’s so funny and seems to really know herself.

  14. John G. says:

Pete! Petey Pants! This was a GREAT episode. Thank you.

  15. Cullen says:

    God I love Jen Kirkman!

Pete- just turn up your water heater a little bit- then the water will be hot enough for your baths!

  16. Ted says:

    Jen Kirkman was very charming.

Pete…well, Pete’s Pete. What are you gonna do?

  17. Al says:

Strong episode. She opened up on some circular relationship intimacies that struck a chord with me.

  18. Jon says:

If I let it take me, Adagio for Strings can make me a little misty eyed. Reckoner by Radiohead is up there too. But yeah… I guess Monster is sort of sad, too.

I know Jen mostly from her chats with Paul F Tompkins. It was weird hearing her converse in a different dynamic. Pete was green lights all the way, where as Paul would be pumping the breaks left and right to grill Jen on some of her sillier assertions. I don’t think we were shorted any silliness as a result, enjoyable episode all around.

  19. mikachu says:

I love Jen’s personality – you guys have great humor chemistry!

  20. Greg says:

Can we talk about how “Monster” by Kanye makes Pete cry? Anyone else befuddled by this?

  21. Dave says:

Great Episode! P.S. I absolutuely love Katie’s laugh

  22. ronaldm says:

“Stand clear of the breaking heart, please!” FUCKING LASER

  23. JGott says:

Vagina Burglar might be the best phrase I’ve ever heard. Holy shit that was great!

  24. Evan says:

I saw that Jen Kirkman was going to be on the show a few days ago, and have been anticipating this since. It’s finally fckin Friday. Oh, and don’t forget Todd’s show is on right after Maron!

  25. skvmmyt says:

The first Pepitone reference killed me!

  26. Alex says:

WTF with Anne Frank!!! i’m dying

  27. Chris says:

Pete, I may be wrong, but I think the “Can I Say” tattoo you referenced is a reference to the DC punk band, Dag Nasty.

  28. matt says:

great episode. Pete’s on a serious roll lately

  29. Jared says:

I could come to the desert. Free podcast.
