Dwight Slade (Comedy! American: The Bill Hicks Story) is an amazing man and a lifelong friend and comedy partner of the legendary Bill Hicks. But beyond that, Dwight is a hilarious and incredible person and one of Pete’s oldest friends in comedy. Please enjoy, you weird weirdos!

Dwight is a genius and a fine human being. Did I mention we were related?
Re-listened to the Gary Gulman episode this week, and it was cool to hear Pete mention Dwight Slade and that he’d love to have him on the show, way back in summer/spring of 2012!
I enjoyed this one up until the vegan bashin’.
Veganism doesn’t come from a place of fear (10 years of veganness here, 0 years of fearful eating, surrounded by fearless compassionate vegans) , I would say it operates from a place of greater freedom and real enlightenment.
I find this to be more accurate on that topic:
“The truth, as it has been said countless times, will set you free. But what is said far less often is that sometimes it first will make you confront habits of behaviour and thought that might be limiting you, so that you might attain the awareness to use your freedom for the benefit of your greater self and all of life.”-John Robbins
Great to hear more about Dwight. Definitely was a large part of the appeal of ‘American: The Bill Hicks Story’, the connection Hicks had with his childhood friends.
Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather.
you should listen to the song third eye by tool Pete
Really wonderful episode! I’d like to start saving for TM classes after listening to Pete and Dwight’s thoughts on the experience.
Bastien, your constant whining and judgmental attitude in these forums is quite amusing.
It seems like you are not able to decern context in conversations and are more concerned about vocabulary than the actual message.
If you have a problem with a term used; by all means speak up and explain.
Your comment adds nothing to the dialogue.
I’m totally willing to accept that I’m an ignorant a-hole, but I actually had to google “tranny” to find out that it’s considered an offensive term. He maybe was being overly crass there, but I think the spirit of that whole bit was that he embraces social liberalism. Obviously I can’t speak for him, but I didn’t detect any hate in those words. Possibly ignorance, but not hate. Just my two cents!
It was all going fine, then he decided to make fun of transgender people and say “tranny”.
Turned off and deleted.
I really loved hearing Dwight’s views on spirituality, and that he and Pete were both reading The Power of Now.
Also, I am completely fascinated by TM, but no way can I justify the price. Pete, I am so jealous that you have learned TM!
One more comment, I think that instead of comedysexgod for the email to send favorite moments to, I think it should have been comedygodsex, like sex with god is funny. hehe.
Pete, you said that you could make yourself cry by listening to music and thinking about friends… and that was an example of “how stupid our brains could be.”
NONSENSE! Dude, that is is fucking AWESOME our brains can be. Emotion is so potent and overwhelming and it should be cherished whenever possible.
Can you be on the golden boy list and still openly express your desire to motorboat Chelsea’s butt or Pete’s. im a little confused about that and down there
Washington STATE legalized weed, not D.C…
James Woods is Dwight Slade’s voice doppelganger.
Shoulder tattoo of a wolf… awesome.
