The Quicksilver scene in the Pentagon during X-Men: Days of Future Past was widely regarded as the best part of the movie. And it certainly helped that Evan Peters looked like he was having a lot of fun while portraying the speedster mutant in his breakout moment.
Director Bryan Singer and the rest of his X-Men: Apocalypse creative team have a tall order if they want to outdo that Quicksilver scene in the new film. But according to Peters, theyâve done it!
âItâs always difficult to try to top something like that,â said Peters. âThe special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it. This year weâre working on something thatâs bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. Iâm really excited to see it all cut together, and Iâm excited for people to see it, too. I think itâs going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie.â
Peters added that âthe scope of itâwith the end of the world and Apocalypse comingâis going to be a very large, epic âX-Menâ film.â
While Days of Future Past briskly wrote Quicksilver out of the film, X-Men: Apocalypse will apparently rectify that by giving Peters a larger role this time. Peters also revealed that he will finally have scenes with Jennifer Lawrenceâs Mystique.
â[Jennifer Lawrence is] great. All the cast is great,â related Peters. âEverybody on set is just so nice, and so friendly and welcoming. Weâre all this big family thatâs stuck on this ginormous ship that is sailing slowly along. So I think everybody is incredibly nice, Iâll tell you that much.â
X-Men: Apocalypse will be released on May 27, 2016.
