One of my most interesting holidays was spent watching Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad square off in a ruthless-consumer showdown to retrieve the last Turbo-Man action figure on the shelf. Now, WWE Studios is hoping to recapture that magic and more in their recently announced film, Jingle All the Way 2.
You read that correctly. Jingle All the Way is getting a sequel.
Unfortunately, Arnie and Sinbad won’t be returning for round two, but there will be a couple of charismatic folks filling their shoes. The movie will star Larry the Cable Guy and WWE wrestler Santino Marella, who I’m assuming will be facing off just as Schwarzenegger and Sinbad did in the original. Alex Zamm (Tooth Fairy 2, Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts) will be taking the director’s chair, and the movie is slated to land sometime holiday season 2014.
Also announced was WWE Studios’ production of the fourth Marine movie, which will star WWE talents Mike âThe Mizâ Mizanin and the first diva to ever be included in a WWE Studio production, Summer Rae. Both movies will be coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, with distribution being handled by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Can i jump the gun and say: nope… sure, clever holiday moneymaker, but the choice in actors is slim sitting for the role replacement. The new guys have their respective place in comedy, but this recast for Arnold and Sinbad is pushing it…
Oscar bait! I see through your transparent tactics, Hollywood!
