Will BOOSTER GOLD Be Included in the DCEU?

One of the DC films that we’re most excited about is Booster Gold, which stars our favorite time-traveling thief turned celebrity seeking superhero. As one of the most lighthearted and comedic characters from the DC Universe, Booster Gold is practically immune to the darker tone that Man of Steel and Batman v Superman were infused with. Booster could bring a lot to the DC Extended Universe, that is if he’s even allowed to be a part of it. Today’s Nerdist News examines Booster Gold’s bizarre stand-alone status that may cut him off from the entire DCEU.

The Flash and Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti previously tried to bring Booster Gold to television at Syfy before landing a deal for a feature film. The natural assumption was that Booster could be the equivalent of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man for the DCEU and give it a much needed dose of comedy. But in a new interview with Vulture, Berlanti said “as of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds…It’d be a separate thing.”

What does it mean for the DCEU if Booster Gold can’t share a world with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman? Nerdist News host and Daily Planet reporter Jessica Chobot asks some troubling questions about that decision. Don’t get us wrong, we absolutely love the idea of Booster Gold starring in his own movie, hopefully alongside his heroic partner-in-crime, the Blue Beetle. If there’s no room in the DCEU for someone like Booster, then we have to wonder whether Warner Brothers really has a vision in place that can truly capture the spirit of DC’s amazing comic book lineup on the big screen.

Do you think Booster Gold’s movie should be set in the DCEU? Let’s discuss in the comment section below.
