We’ve heard the term “persistent online shooter” thrown around quite a bit over the last couple of years, but have had yet to find out how exactly this terminology applies to Ubisoft Massive’s upcoming title The Division. In fact, details on the game have been rather scarce since it was first announced at the end of Ubisoft’s E3 press conference back in 2013. We know that the game has holds the heralded name of Tom Clancy and that it’s running on the critically acclaimed Snowdrop Engineâ thus the reason the game looks beautiful from an aesthetic standpoint. But it wasn’t until this year’s E3, when Dan Casey and I took our first hands-on time with the game, that we found out how exceedingly ambitious the game truly is. The Division is a massive action-RPG disguised as a tactical shooter and is definitely poised to be one of the biggest role playing games of next year.
Dan Casey and I are here, in all of our sleep-deprived E3 excitement, to discuss why you should be keeping a close eye on The Division, which is set to release on March 8, 2016. Does this game sound like everything you imagined and more from when you first heard about it? Are you a big fan of tactical shooters? Shoot your thoughts down into the comments below, and make sure to keep an eye here on Nerdist for more E3 greatness!
