If Lando Calrissian is known for anything, it’s his incredible levels of swag. The entrepreneur, gambler, and all around charming fellow has already stolen Solo: A Star Wars Story. In a single trailer and some images from the film, Donald Glover is clearly already owning the role–even though we have yet to hear him speak as the iconic Star Wars character. Lando is a guy who knows presentation can make all the difference, so in this Nerdist News Edition host Hector Navarro tackles the all-important topic of why Lando has so much style, pizzazz, and panache.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Glover commented on Lando’s wardrobe. The suave character takes pride in his outfits, and Glover made an excellent point: “When people see you and you’re debonair, they tend to want to give you stuff easier.”
Besides examining Lando’s slick appearance (he even looks fancy when he’s peddling puffer pigs in Star Wars Rebels), this installment of Nerdist News Edition tries to pinpoint when exactly Solo takes place on the timeline and takes a look at some of the other characters in the upcoming standalone film: Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany), Val (Thandie Newton), and L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). It’s already looking like L3-37 will become our new favorite droid.
