When Batman Takes on Darth Vader, Awesome Things Happen

There was a short moment this week where the internet had us believing this weekend was going to see the debut teaser of next year’s epic DC movie event, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, as is often the way with internet rumors, everything eventually fell apart when, supposedly, tracking came in for Jupiter Ascending, revealing it to be a box-office disappointment. So, in the end, we didn’t get the Bat v Super excellence we were hoping for but, thankfully, that didn’t stop the internet from making sure we met our Dark Knight quota anyway.

Have you guys ever seen something and just thought, “how has no one ever done this before?” Well, today’s offering is going to be one of those times as it seems some crafty idea people over at Machinima dug deep into their childhood action-figure-based fantasies to deliver an all new short film that sees the famous Gotham vigilante take on none other than the most badass mofo in the galaxy far, far away, Darth Vader:

Like, where do we even begin with this one? It’s just so perfect and badass and makes us believe in the magic of imagination again.

It takes us back to those childhood playground memories where we would sit and argue with friends about who would win in a fight: Batman or Darth Vader. Of course, we’d never get to see this play out in an official capacity, IP rights and all, but in the fan space, anything’s possible. So, to the creators of this fine piece of work, we simply say, thank you.
