The robots of Delos’ parks are so lifelike they allow the guests to become fully immersed in the experience of the Old West or Ancient Japan. To that end, the last person anyone should ask to try building one is Simone Giertz, the Queen of Shitty Robots. But of course, she’s also the best person to turn to if you want to make the worst, funniest-looking, most hilarious Westworld knockoff possible.
Using a creepy medical doll as the basis for her cyborg…ish creation, Giertz focused on trying to replicate the two most important elements of a Westworld host: talking and arm-movementâobviously. In the process, Giertz also decided she would try to indirectly get on the hit HBO show herself by making her robot look “exactly” like herself.
Umm, we are not exactly optimistic SimTwo is going to make it onto the show. But like all of Giertz’s robots, what makes it so terrible is exactly what makes it so amazing. Also, as far as visual homages to Westworld‘s first season go, this is spot-on.
And sure, this is one really bad android, but it does have one huge advantage over the ones seen on Westworld: at least we don’t have to worry about it leading a robotic uprising and killing us all. After all, who would follow this thing into battle?
What other fictional automatons should Simone Giertz, the Queen of Shitty Robots, try to recreate next? Tell us your best suggestion in the comments below.
