Welcome to the Shadow Zone

Alpha’s WELCOME TO THE SHADOW ZONE Dives Deep into Everything Horror and Occult

Way down deep in the darkest depths of our online community Alpha, where only the bravest souls dare venture, we’ve been hiding something truly terrifying. That’s where we gave a platform to the master of the macabre, the expert of the eerie, the sommelier of the spooky–the  one and only Onyx the Fortuitous–to treat the world to his own horror-loving series. And now, in honor of the most wonderfully monstrous time of the year, Halloween, we’re letting Onyx loose. Starting today, we’re releasing an episode every Monday from season one of Welcome to the Shadow Zone, and all it will cost you is your immortal soul!

Okay, maybe not, but the price is definitely a good night’s sleep… Some indigestion? A few minutes of unease? Look, some truly unseemly things have taken place in his mom’s garage. In episode one, Onyx learns why using your mom’s Yankee candles is more frightening than any demon, he reveals the horrible nightmares of his life in Truth Teller, then hosts a very special version of “The Horror Hound” with his friend Maggie, before interviewing Re-Animator‘s Barbara Crampton (with special-ish appearance by Jeffrey Combs)! Oh, yeah, and Todd shows up.

In episode two, you can watch (most of) his band Thrice Damned‘s haunting music video for “Demon Preacher,” go “On the Campaign Trail” with his friend Jessamyn to break down the latest from their long running G&G campaign, and get the latest fast food review in “Fast Food, Cool Dude.” Oh, yeah, and Todd shows up.

And in episode three, you’ll see what (could have) happened to those who made the fatal mistake of crossing Onyx, learn what Johnny Depp would look like as a cat, see Onyx play “Get Baked” with his mom’s affectionate best friend Miss Margot (she owns a bakery and loves wine), join Onyx and Maggie on location at a haunted house for “The Horror Hound,” and learn some amazing life hacks with “Cheat Codez.”

Welcome to the Shadow Zone might not always deliver the frights that Onyx hopes, but as you can see it always delivers the goods. But it is just one of many great shows you can find at Alpha, where all of season one is available right now if you can’t wait until Monday for the next episode.

But the best part is we’re so excited to have you join us at Alpha that if you sign up right now, your first 30 days are completely free. There’s nothing scary about that price.

What horror topics do you hope to see Onyx discuss on the show? Which guests would you like to see again? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below, along with whether or not he should have accepted Miss Margot’s invite to that “special” party, in the comments below.
