Weird Al’s MILO MURPHY’S LAW Gets Premiere Date and Theme Song

Earlier this year, we told you that Weird Al Yankovic is teaming up with the creators of Phineas and Ferb for a new Disney XD animated series called Milo Murphy’s Law. Now, it’s just over a month away!

Disney XD has announced that Milo Murphy’s Law will premiere on Monday, October 3 at 8pm. Weird Al not only provides the theme song and additional songs throughout the series, he also voices the title character, 13-year old Milo Murphy. Within this show, Milo is the “great-great-great-great grandson” of the man who defined Murphy’s Law: “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.” For Milo, bad luck is a hereditary condition that has run in his family for generations, but he’s just so darn optimistic that his misfortunes become adventures.

As conceived by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, each episode of Milo Murphy’s Law is split into two 11-minute stories. These outings follow Milo and his two best friends, Zack (MeKai Curtis) and Melissa (Sabrina Carpenter) as they attempt to turn around Milo’s latest catastrophes. The rest of the voice cast is made up of a pretty impressive group of established performers, including Christian Slater as Milo’s semi-nemesis Elliot, a school crossing guard who decides that it’s his mission in life to protect the world from Milo’s bad luck. Two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are also onboard: Ming-Na Wen and Bret Dalton voice time travel agents named Savannah and Brick. The Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement is voicing Dr. Zone (a time-traveling TV show character), while Sophie Winkleman is playing Dr. Zone’s sidekick, Time Ape. Because of course she is.

Milo’s more immediate family is portrayed by veteran voiceover actors Diedrich Bader, Pamela Adlon, and Kate Micucci. Bader and Adlon will play Milo’s parents, Martin and Brigette Murphy, while Micucci is Milo’s sister, Sara. Other recurring performers include Dee Bradley Baker, Mackenzie Phillips, Kevin Michael Richardson, Gregory Michael Cipes, and Michael Culross.

If you just can’t wait for Milo Murphy’s Law to premiere in October, you can check out the first episode on September 26 via the Disney XD app, Disney XD’s YouTube Channel, and Disney XD VOD.
