Weekend Video Special: The Greatest Norwegian Celebrity Lip Syncing Video Ever

Let’s usher in the weekend with, hands down, the strangest celebrity lip syncing video I’ve seen in, well, ever. It’s a video promoting a Norwegian entertainment interview show called “Gylne Tider” and, oh, see it for yourself. And if you can find another video in which Glenn Close, Alberto Tomba (!), and Philip Michael Thomas (!!!), among many others, lip sync a cover of “Let it Be,” by all means, post it. Plus the late Leslie Nielsen’s in it. And Huey Lewis. And Pamela Anderson. And David Faustino. And at least one James Bond, and Rene from “Allo Allo,” and Peter Falk, and Dolph Freakin’ Lundgren. And a hypnotist.

Spectacular.

  1. Deltus says:

    They removed the video! *sadness*

  2. Kevin says:

    meant that to be a ! not a ?

  3. Kevin says:

They got Carlton from Fresh Prince? R.I.P. Leslie Nielson.

  4. Michael says:

Maybe… maybe, this is what heaven looks like.

  5. Alexxx says:

Was the black guy in the suit the guy from the “what what, in the butt” video?

  6. smartbunny says:

I guess I sort of don’t understand why this is so great… is it the nostalgia? Am I an old fart? I don’t know.

  7. DefconDan says:

@Kristen – Thanks for that link to the other video… man Bananarama was/is still so hot 🙂

  8. DefconDan says:

Man this was trip down memory lane… the same lane I thought I eradicated from all my maps to avoid videos like this :). It was cool to see some people just weird way to do so.

  9. Richelle says:

Why were only some of the captions in English but the rest in Norwegian? They couldn’t pick a language and stick with it?

Tonya Harding didn’t even TRY to look presentable!

  10. Robert says:

OMG, how, why, where am I? Completely Awesome! Thanks Hardwick for always finding the best of the best!

  11. Daniel Gauer says:

My favorite caption was for Bud Spencer.”Spaghetti-western Filmer”

  12. Daniel S says:

why did they keep showing Ricki Lake awkwardly dancing and waving her arms around in the background?

  13. Howard says:

How old is this video? Is the Boyzone cameo, I see Stephen Gately, who has been dead for over a year now….

  14. MW says:

What a little golden nugget of a video! Dee Snider? Um, yes please!=)

  15. Amanda says:

George Wendt and David Faustino. Yes!

  16. WARisPEACE says:

    Awww. Leslie Nielsen. 🙁

  17. Chris Hardwick says:

My golden tickets in this mind-bending Wonka Bar were George Wendt, Larry Drake and “hipnotiser”.

  18. Bri says:

Wow. It seems like this video shouldn’t be possible except through Bill and Ted means. (I don’t think the Doctor would spend his time collecting up Tanya Harding and Robert Englund to make a music video on a CG beach.)

On a factual note: Gyllene Tider is the name of a very famous Swedish pop group. Their name means Golden Times and this show means the same thing but in Norwegian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyllene_Tider

  19. yogahz says:

    And, appropriately, a Milli Vanillian.

  20. Mariah says:

Aw its nice to see they gave that Forrest Gump kid some work. Perhaps him and the Guttenberg can get together for a project. They can get Right Said Fred to do the music It would probably be the best film of all time. Just sayin.

  21. Mike says:

I feel a littel misled that Steve Guttenberg wasn’t mentioned in the text. I could have cruised on by and not watched and I would have missed out on “The Gutte”. You should really laser in on this as I think most people have forgotten he even exists yet still remember Officer Mahoney.

  22. Kristen says:

There is a “We are the World” version too – with a dancing Mark Hamil http://tinyurl.com/32go83r

You have to wonder if this was some version of celebrity Punk’d.

  23. Clove_art says:

It’s unbelievable that Philip Michael Thomas still looks like Tubbs!!!
    He must be a highlander.

  24. PandorasLunchbox says:

Theo! Still jammin’ on the one.

  25. Hannah Huyck says:

Haha, thank you for sharing Perry. Lou Ferrigno- Hulken definitely made me laugh.

  26. John Fisticuffs says:

    Lou Ferrigno – “Hulken”

Also, what does this say about the relatively recognizable celebrities like Jason Alexander or Glenn Close (!) to be surrounded by Tanya Harding, Bud Bundy and the guy who played the kid version of Forrest Gump?!?!

the word ‘bizarre’ has likely never been more appropriate.
