Wearable IRON MAN Suit Made Out Of Cardboard

Comic fans may be raving about Captain America: The Winter Soldier right now, but this Iron Man suit made out of cardboard will leave you speechless.

Created by 20-year-old cardboard artist Kai-Xiang Xhong, he uses a technique called “pepakura” (think origami on acid) that transforms regular ol’ cardboard into the Iron Man masterpiece you see below. But that’s not the best thing about the cardboard suit: It’s actually wearable!

And although he didn’t color over the cardboard, he admits that the color and texture was deliberate. Check out the video below of an interview he did with the Stan Winston School:

You can see more of his awesome work, including an incredibly life-like bird. here.

Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?

  2. Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. However think of if you added some great images or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this blog could definitely be one of the greatest in its field. Amazing blog!

  9. SomeOne says:

Sure every body can make one out of fiberglass or aluminum, but his one is cheaper by infinity.

  10. Mimsie says:

I’m not super overly impressed by it because I’ve seen one put together first hand. My Boyfriend made one last year. It’s not the most difficult thing in the world and lots of people have made it out of fiberglass and aluminum, which are both a bit more difficult than cardboard or foam. That’s all I’m saying. and AGAIN…He did a good job with it. Just not sure why he gets featured over the numbers of other people that have made mechanical, functioning, shiny, painted ones.

  11. come on says:

How dare you Mimsie. On orders by high commander Jeff Bough, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BE IMPRESSED.

  12. Jeff Bough says:

What have you made today, Mimsie? A poop?

  13. Mimsie says:

Yeah…this is cool…but I’ve seen lots of other people make it out of foam or cardboard from pepakura files before. Nothing really new here…he just didn’t paint it. (not saying he didn’t do a good job with it…just that he’s one of many people who have done this)

  14. Joseph Abraham says:
