It’s been over two weeks since Fallout 4 hit PC and consoles, and in that time, you’ve probably spent hours wandering around the wasteland. But, have you ever stopped to wonder what it would be like to actually walk around in Bethesda’s virtual world? I know I have, and with the growing VR trend, I also couldn’t help but wonder what the game would look like on something like the Oculus Rift. Apparently I wasn’t the only one, because the folks at Virtuix just released a video of somebody playing the game using both the Oculus rift and the Virtuix Omni-directional Treadmill. Check it out in the video above.
As Virtuix stated at the beginning of the video, the game isn’t optimized for virtual reality. So, they ended up using third party software to make the game compatible with both the Oculus Rift and the Virtuix Omni, which is an omni-directional treadmill that the company makes. Additionally, to make things run a bit smoother, they activated God Mode.
Although this isn’t something that fans are going to be able to experience, it is certainly fun to see the player walking around in the wasteland. Also, if look closely, you’ll notice that he’s wearing one of the limited edition Pip-Boys. To see what it looks like up close, don’t forget to check out our official unboxing of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition!
What did you think of the video? Is there another game you’d like to see on the Virtuix Omni? Let us know in the comments below, or reach out to me on twitter: @sam3214!
