Pssst: there be spoilers for The Walking Dead‘s midseason finale and premiere in this post. You’ve been warned.
Following the shocking conclusion to the first half of The Walking Deadâs fifth season, all weâve wanted is to see what’s in store now that Rick and the gang are back together, but have seemingly nowhere to go. Luckily, we can now get a taste of what’s to come, as the first scene from this Sunday’s mid-season premiere has just been released!
Looks like weâre going on a road trip, guys.
Something The Walking Dead has always done is play around with the idea of having the group create a camp somewhere â be it a farm, church or prison â and try to establish a life for themselves. However, this could be the first time weâll get to see the group as a whole go on the move as one cohesive unit. Then again, given the showâs structure, we imagine it wonât be long before they all separate into their collective packs until the next finale rolls around later this spring.
Whatever the case may be, The Walking Dead has been a mostly improved show since going through a second showrunner shakeup between its third and fourth season. So far, it doesnât appear Scott Gimple is stepping down anytime soon, and that will hopefully mean a more consistent voice for the series moving forward.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
