Watch Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart Go at It on the THE COLBERT REPORT

With his role as David Letterman’s successor on CBS’ Late Show set in stone, it won’t be much longer now before the doors close for good on Stephen Colbert’s run as host of The Colbert Report, but if there’s one thing Stephen isn’t fond of doing, it’s going quietly into that good night. This past week, the host had on a guest, but not just any guest; rather it was none other than the man that made him/his executive producer, Jon Stewart. There to promote his new film, Rosewater, Stephen was quick to get to what matters: Stewart’s amazingness at everything. Check it out:

So as we slowly watch the clock tick down on Colbert’s time on Comedy Central, it’s nice to see the man going out strong, and this interview will totally be remembered as one of the finest moments in the series’ history.

No matter how outlandish Colbert gets, his clear “don’t take any of this seriously” attitude is what keeps us engaged, and it was so much fun to watch him “spar” with Stewart this week. We have no doubt, considering how many interviews and late night talk shows he’s had to do for the new film, this was, by far, Stewart’s favorite interview of the press tour, and that he found it a great way to close out the marketing campaign. Of course, it would also be nice if Stewart could just stop being good at everything, right?

What did you think of the “spar” between Stewart and Colbert this week? Let us know in the comments below.

Comedy Central still hasn’t figured out that their own video streaming solution sucks balls, and that people might actually see some of the ads they want to make $ off if they just uploaded their content to YouTube, where people go to watch video content.  Decisions made by 70 year old attorneys.
