I don’t mean to rub it in, but odds are you weren’t at Radiohead’s Lollapalooza concert on Friday. It’s just as likely that you spent the evening scrounging for Vines and Instagram videos shot and shared by those lucky enough to snag tickets to the Grant Park set, which showcased numbers from across the band’s past two decades of melodic artistry. If this rings all too familiar, I’ve got some good news. No longer will you be relegated to the scraps you can piece together from social mediaâRadiohead has agreed, finally, to allow Friday’s concert to be streamed online for the free viewing pleasure of fans all over.
As you may have known, Radiohead was one of the few bands making up this year’s Lollapalooza lineup whose set was originally not to be streamed onlineâsurprising, considering the band’s history with propagating a “pay what you wish” agenda for access to its music. Whatever had originally stood between fans and a digital broadcast of the Chicago performance, however, is all in the past. You’ll be able to watch a replay of the Lollapalooza centerpiece over at Red Bull, beginning at 10:35 am ET/7:35 am PT.
If for some reason you can’t manage a viewing during the allotted time (perhaps you have one of those jobs I keep hearing everyone talk so much about), don’t worry just yetâConsequence of Sound reports that there have been suggestion of additional replays, though they’ve yet to be added to the site’s official broadcast schedule.
Check out the show (and the rest of Lollapalooza’s great acts) over at Red Bull, and let us know of your picks for the set’s highlights.
