While at one time viewed as a technical marvel and the crowning achievement of human innovation, in the modern era, flying is no more exciting than riding the rails. However, that doesnât mean we want the experience to suck. Even if we are just going from point A to point B, we want to do it in as painless a fashion as possible⦠Unfortunately, some people make that really difficult.
You know the types: the talkers, the eaters, the seat climbers, the people that make flying an all out chore at best and nightmare at worst. However, if they all looked, sounded and acted like the always adorable Sir Patrick Stewart, maybe we wouldnât be so against them while eating our complementary bag of peanuts and blue chips.
Itâs pretty much impossible to not love Patrick Stewart. Whether fighting Magneto, leading the Enterprise or causing problems 22,000 feet up, every time he shows up, we know weâre in for a treat, and this Kimmel bit is no exception.
That said, there is one plane person the skit failed to mention, and thatâs the dude that keeps getting up to pull stuff from his bag thatâs been placed above you in the overhead. Now, to be fair, that person shares much in common with the problems of the seat climber, but still it would have been nice to see an inclusion.
What do you think of Patrick Stewartâs appearance on Kimmel? Got any plane stories of your own to share? Let us know in the comments below.

The beautiful blonde on the right – wearing headphones – is a friend of mine: Caitlin Muelder. A very accomplished actress.
“You the types”? I think you mean “You know the types”. How about a quick grammar and spell check before posting.
Sir Patrick Stewart does not “Pilot” the Enterprise. This is indeed a “Nerd” Epic Fail.
Actually he did pilot the Enterprise in the episode “Booby Trap” 🙂
Really Nerdist? He didn’t pilot the Enterprise guys, he was the Captain. For shame…
