Sriracha is conquering the world, one spiced-up palette at a time. Itâs become one of the most favored condiments on the table and is even better as an ingredient in a myriad of recipes. Now Sosu Sauces has taken Sriracha back to itâs hand-crafted roots: locally sourcing red jalapeño peppers from family farms, and aging them in whiskey barrels for a full month to develop deep, full flavors.
Handcrafted in small batches, Sosu Sriracha uses just four ingredients: chili peppers, garlic, brown sugar, and sea salt. The smokiness from the oak barrels gives this Sriracha a deeper flavor than the mass produced bottles but still has that signature fiery kick.
Founder Lisa Murphy left her corporate job behind to follow her dream of creating food products with roots in Chinese cuisine that were also distinctly American. She travelled Southeast Asia where she learned to cook local dishes and create distinct flavor profiles.
Since heat is such a popular flavor profile right now, incorporating Sriracha into other forms seemed like the obvious step. Sosu also offers up their homemade seasonings in a Barrel-Aged Hot Sauce and a peppery Sriracha Spice Rub for grilling.
Srirachup is the real star of these products, though. A Sriracha/ketchup mashup, the Srirachup is addictively sweet and tangy, just the right amount of heat to liven up hot dogs and burgers. Perfect for people who like sweet condiments but donât want overwhelming heat.
The Sosu Sriracha Loverâs Gift Set sold online even comes with a recipe for Sriracha Mac & Cheese which sounds just about as heavenly as you can get. Sosu Sauces are available online and in select stores.
