Besides playing a scientist on TV, as weâve discussed before, Adam Savage is also a maker. He loves to build and craft things for his enjoyment, and one of his most favorite parts of his vast collection are his various replica costumes. To celebrate his work, Savage puts on his Tested.com supported âAdam Incognitoâ contest every year at Comic-Con. The contest sees the Mythbuster hit the SDDC show floor in full gear with the hope that fans will eventually find him.
Now that the Con has come to a close, the video of this yearâs search has been released, and itâs one of the makerâs most complex costumes to date:
Ten years in the making, Savageâs Alien-inspired environmental suit is completely nuts, but itâs the facehugger that sells it. You can truly see the love that went into the costume and how happy  Savage is to be wearing it. The commitment it takes for him to not just create a costume like this, but to make it functional in a way that can impress even the most hardcore of cosplayers, is something to behold. Weâre so glad he he chooses Comic-Con as the venue to unveil it.
Though there’s only one episode left of Mythbusters remaining in its current season, there will be plenty more videos of Adam doing his thing on Tested.com. If you still can’t get enough and would like to see âAdam Incognitosâ from years past, head over to the Tested.com YouTube page to check them out.

Adam, you’re a stud. What a great piece of movie art you’ve created. I know you do this for a living, but I am very impressed. Looking at the peoples faces that you stopped to have a photo taken with, it’s clear they will remember that costume. Way to tough it out, I like the cool suit too.
with the backpack i would have added a place to hold some water for doing comic con or events and then with one of the hoses i would have had a link to the water canister. that way you can remain hydrated for longer. and also maybe some battery power cpu venting fans on the helmet to get rid of some of the heat. would have been pice of cake for him to do
pretty cool none the less. awesome you were sport enough to let people take pics of the mystery man inside the suit. darren
Adam, you should have worn a cooling vest made for things like this http://ezcooldown.com/ has great ones for people suiting up. tip for next time maybe?
He did
I’ve worn mascot suits myself, and the cooling vest I’ve worn was way more substantial than the one he was wearing. The one he was wearing wasn’t meant for the conditions he was using it under. He even said himself it was for hot temperatures under ‘normal conditions’. There were only cooling packs in the front. I’m not surprised it didn’t last more than about 5 minutes. He really should’ve invested in one designed for suiting up, which has more substantial packs on the back and front of the vest.
Now you know how it feels to be a Disney Character!
Man.. Frank from face off! You made an awesome face hugging creature!
Also, I should probably proof read.
That costume is awesome but, this is proof I’ve been laid up too long, shouldn’t his name plate read Kane and not Dallas?
The first photo looks like he’s holding up a cat’s butthole to the camera.
I would never have recognised him from the photo used in this article, let alone in the suit.
