For years, George R.R. Martin has tortured fans of the book series A Song of Ice and Fire (or as TV fans know it, Game of Thrones) by getting them invested in characters that dieâor become White Walkersâjust as quickly as they are introduced. Thankfully, Ol’ Georgie-Boy over here is about to get his comeuppance thanks to Syfy’s Z Nation, which turned the author into a zombie.
That’s rightâon Friday’s episode, Martin takes a page out of Lady Stoneheart‘s book, showing up as his undead self. A horror comedy that revolves around a team transporting Murphyâthe only person on Earth seemingly immune to the zombie virusâacross the country to a lab facility to create a cure, Z Nation introduces Martin signing autographs for his…WAIT A SECOND, IS THAT A DREAM OF SPRING?! Damn it, George! I mean, it’s good he finished it but like, ugh.
Z Nation co-creator Craig Engler also tweeted a picture of Martin getting ready:

Here’s hoping that by walking a mile in the shoes of the no-longer-living, he may start to grow a heart and keep a beloved character or two around for awhile (Wishful thinking, I know).
So what do you think? Are you ready to watch as Martin learns how it feels to have the tables turned? Or will this only drive him to wipe out anything and everything in his path? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
