Watch Dr. Evil Hack The Saturday Night Live Intro

Back in the late night 90s and early 2000s, there was one name synonymous with espionage, action and suspense… and his codename wasn’t 007. No, this man went by another name, and that name was Austin Powers. Over the course of three films we watched Austin battle the scum of the earth with hilarious James Bond parody and one-liners, but no matter how cunning he was, he always seemed matched, both in wit and often stupidity, by Dr. Evil. And now, after an extended hiatus, it appears Evil has risen once again:

Of course this bit was created in response to the hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment and the subsequent cancellation of The Interview’s theatrical release – something we’ve discussed at various points ourselves – but in watching the re-introduction of the famed film villain by Mike Myers, we also realize something else: we really need a new Austin Powers film.

There have been rumors swirling for nearly two years now that deals were signed and there’s currently a script being worked on for a continuation of the comedy franchise, but if it never happens, at least we know Dr. Evil and his famous kitty were given one more chance in the spotlight. One more chance to say to the world: “Evil’s here in all his comedic glory, and here here to stay, bitches!”

What do you think of Dr. Evil’s cut in on Saturday Night Live? Would you be up for a new Austin Powers film? Let us know in the comments below.
