Watch Daryl Dixon Direct A Music Video In The Desert

When Norman Reedus isn’t zombifying f–king everyone in The Walking Dead with his crossbow, you can find him in desolate, dried-up lake basins shooting music videos for hip young rock bands, trading shirts with film crew members, and shouting “Do a Daryl-roll!”, as though it were a common direction to give on set.

Even though the last part of the previous sentence is clearly a lie, the rest is absolutely true: while filming a forthcoming film in Barstow, California, Reedus linked up with rock duo The Bots, a pair of brothers (Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei) who make rock music that channels The White Stripes, The Arctic Monkeys, and that raucous, barebones garage rock sound of the early aughts.

Though this is technically behind-the-scenes footage, I think it is safe to say that music video for The Bots’ excellent “Blinded” will be an accurate visual representation of the dust-filled chasm that the group’s music inhabits. Besides, nothing says explosive rock music like two hotrods doing donuts (Daryl-rolls?) in the sun-cracked environs of the California desert. Check out the footage below, and then be sure to listen to The Bots’ most recent album Pink Palms.
