If you have a social media account of any kind, chances are you’re familiar with the work of Creative Lighting Display. The group is responsible for putting together some, shall we say, extreme suburban home holiday light displays for Halloweens and Christmases past, where the lights are synchronized with a musical number. It’s pretty bad ass.
But the Halloween songs get a little more creative than Christmas carols. CLD has used songs like Danny Elfman’s “This is Halloween” from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and….”Fireball” by Pitbull?? Not entirely sure how that particular song evokes the Halloween spirit, but hey, to each their own.
Now the folks at Creative Lighting Display are back, and this Halloween they’ve gone a little more traditional with their seasonal music choices. For the first house, they’ve gone back to the overplayed and tired tried and true 1962 Halloween perennial, “The Monster Mash” by Bobby “Boris” Picket. And for the second house, they’ve gone a little more ’80s with Ray Parker Jr.’s Ghostbusters theme song. (Both of these make a lot more sense than Pitbull any old day.)
You can see Creative Lighting Display’s video for “The Monster Mash” above, and to see their video for the Ghostbusters house, click on the link below. Either of these should be just the right thing to get you in that Nerdoween spirit this year.
