If you are a fan of Tee Fury or Ript Apparel, you are more likely than not a fan of mash-ups. Mash-ups are great when they work and the above video qualifies as such as it cranks the funk up to eleven. YouTube channel What’s the Mashup? has taken 100 dances scenes from 100 different movies and put them together to Bruno Mars‘ Uptown Funk. If you were getting close to “okay, it’s time to put this song to bed” mode on your playlist, here’s an excuse to keep it out a little longer.
The video takes an “all genres allowed” approach, as some of the films pulled from include Rocky III, Napoleon Dynamite, Naked Gun, Despicable Me, Saturday Night Fever, and Back to the Future III. (Otherwise known as my dream LEGO Dimensions expansion pack.) What is impressive about the video is the obvious time and patience it took to edit everything together. It’s one thing to find all the dances scenes from movies, it’s another to make sure the scenes match up to the song where the movements make sense.
You can check out more of Whatâs the Mashupâs videos on their YouTube Channel here.
So what do you think? Are you impressed with the time and patience to make this video? Or are you trying to figure out how to make a video where two movies are separated into their ownâ¦wait. Either way, let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
