Although some of the major studios are sitting out San Diego Comic-Con this year, Warner Bros. is definitely planning on being there in full force. The studio just announced details on their big Hall H panel this year, and it’s a doozy. There will be a whopping seven movies being previewed… that we know about. There might be one or two surprises WB decides to throw in there as well.
Here’s what we know so far, via the Hollywood Reporter: Conan O’Brien will be serving as the emcee for the studio’s Hall H presentation, which is set for July 23, and which will showcase the upcoming movies Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, The LEGO Batman Movie, Kong: Skull Island, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
First movie out of the gate will be long awaited Wonder Woman, and coming to the Con will be actors Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, and director Patty Jenkins. Wonder Woman is currently set to open in June 2017. Following Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis and helmer David Ayer, among others, will be there to discuss the August 5 release.
Next up, Lego Batman director Chris McKay and the voice of Bruce Wayne himself, Will Arnett will be on hand to talk about the first followup to 2014’s hit animated film. Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam will be there to drum up interest in Guy Ritchie’s long-delayed King Arthur film. Actors Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell and filmmaker Jordan Vogt-Roberts will all be in attendance for the King Kong prequel Skull Island.
Finally, it’s a return to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The film’s director David Yates, along with stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Dan Fogler, will talk about the much anticipated prequel to Harry Potter. There is, of course, room for one or two surprises, so don’t be surprised if we see something in regards to next year’s Justice League film
Out on the convention floor, the Warner Bros. love will continue with a Fantastic Beasts Wand Station and talent signing at the Warner Bros. booth. Meanwhile, the DC booth will have Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman talent signings, and the LEGO Booth will have LEGO Batman talent signings and a “building zone,” so fans can help LEGO Master Builders create life-sized LEGO versions of Batman, Batgirl, and Joker.
